2 T margarine or butter
1 t vanilla
2-2 1/2 cups water

1/2 cup cold water
some orange rind

3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup butter or shortening

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

flavouring

1 cup sweet milk

Topping:

1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup flour

Rub to crumbs.  Sprinkle on top of batter, then dust with cinnamon.

80 small marshmallows (or 20 large marshmallows cut into 4 pieces each)

2 squares chocolate, melted

1/4 cup walnuts, chopped

1 cup shredded coconut

1 cup icing sugar

1 egg, beaten

Put marshmallows, icing sugar, walnuts, and half of coconut on a long piece of waxed paper.  Pour melted chocolate over and beaten egg.  Mix all together and form into a long roll.  Roll in remaining coconut last and leave in waxed paper and put in refrigerator.  (Small colored marshmallows are good instead).

1 1/2 cup of white sugar

1 1/2 cup of water

2 teaspoons cream of tartar

Mix and pack into 8×8 inch ungreased pan

2 cups icing sugar

1/2 cup margarine

2 1/2 squares melted chocolate

1/2 tsp vanilla

Beat all together as for icing until smooth.  Spread over graham mixture.  Sprinkle crushed graham wafers over top and place in refrigerator for a few hours.

1/2 cup cocoa

1/2 cup cold warer

1/4 cup boiling water

1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla

Mix cocoa and water to a paste.  Add boiling water and sugar.  Boil 3 minutes; Stir to prevent burning.  When almost cold, add vanilla and pour into a scalded 1 pint jar for storage in a cold place.

1/4 lb butter

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 scant cups flour

1 tspn baking powder

1 bottle maraschino cherries

1 egg

1 tspn vanilla

Method:

Mix butter, sugar, flour, baking powder and  rub away from sides of bowl with fingers.  Add egg, vanilla.  Make 40 little balls and flatten with hand.  Put one cherry in centre of each cookie and roll up.  Make sure cherries are well drained.  Keep juice.  Put on baking sheet and bake 10 to 15 mins in moderate oven until slightly browned.  Frost when cool with butter icing flavored with cherry juice.

2 cups oatmeal

2 cups flour

1 cup butter or shortening

1 cup white sugar (rather much)

1 cup milk

1 teaspn cream of tarter

1/2 teaspn soda

Sift cream of tartar and soda with flour and oatmeal and sugar, cut in shortening, add milk a little at a time to make dough stiff enough to roll. Divide dough into two parts and roll out separately to about 1/4 inch thickness, sprinkle with a little oatmeal & sugar before cutting into cookies.  Bake in moderately hot oven bout 10 to 15 mins.
